Craps Betting Tips

Craps Betting Tips

When most people think of craps they think of the old casino movies where everyone is around the table screaming “Come on 7!” (or any other number that is needed at the time). Although you will find that from time to time at some bigger casinos, craps is a very tedious game that takes a lot of patience and money to play effectively for the long term

You see its a game of small edges for the house, and smaller wins for the player, this is the reason you must have a bankroll to withstand losses in the short term in order to capitalize in the long term. Now there is no sure fire way to beat craps, just the same way there isnt any surefire way to win any other casino game, but if you play properly you will stand a much better chance.

For those who need a refresher course in craps lets break it down with these craps tips from online casino us. To start a craps game, a puck on the table reads “Off” and a player from the table rolls the dice. If he/she rolls a 2,3, or a 12 anyone who bet the passline has lost, 7 or 11 win, and 4,5,6,8,9,10 becomes the number.

Once a number is set, the puck goes on top of the number and reads “On” from here on in, the game will end (you will lose your money) if a 7 or 11 come, and you will win money if you bet on a number and it comes. You will win the game itself if the “On” number is rolled again. It may sound confusing, but its actually quite simple once you get to the table.

So now for some tips on how to play the game more effectively:

Stay away from the hardways. These are game bets where you are betting that two of the same number will come on the dice. The combinations are (22, 33, 44, 55). They pay from 6-1 up to 9-1 and can be lucrative if hit. The odds do not offset the cost however, and in the end you will lose more money with these bets.

  • · Never do one roll bets. In the middle of a craps table you will see tons of combinations of dice, pretty much everything from snake eyes (11) to double six. These carry bigger odds of up to 30-1 (meaning you bet $1 to win $30). Unlike the hardways which last until the game ends (7 or 11 is rolled) these run out every single roll. These are the longest of the long shots, and you might as well play keno with your money instead of playing these.
  • · Bet with the hot roller. Craps is a game of streaks, sometimes a roller will get hot early, others will stay cold throughout. Being able to spot the difference and bet with or against the trend is the way to make the most money in this game. The concept is easier said than done, but if you can do it, the money will flow in.
Thats all for now, but be sure to stay on your toes at the next craps game and you might just be the next Mr. Papageorgio.
